Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today confirmed that he was in Kiev to “defend” Ukraine, despite being promoted by Russian troops, in a video where he appears with his close associates outside the presidency building.
“We are here. We are in Kiev. “We are defending Ukraine,” he said in a video posted with the Ukrainian president and his team outside the presidential palace.
“We are all here, our soldiers are here, the citizens, the society, we are all here to defend our independence, our state,” Zelensky said.
Next to him appeared Prime Minister Dennis Smigal, his chief of staff and a close adviser.
