In a Telegram post, GUR did not specify how the Su-57 was hit or by which unit of the Ukrainian armed forces.

A popular one Russian military bloggerwho is in favor of the war, calls himself Fighterbomber and focuses on aviation issues, said that the report of the strike against the Su-57 is correct and that it was hit by a drone.

GUR says the fighter jet was parked at the air base Akhtubinskwhich is 589 kilometers from the front lines in Ukraine, between Ukrainian and occupying Russian forces.

“Photos show that on June 7, the Su-57 was standing intact and (on June 8), there were craters from the explosion and distinctive fire spots, caused by a burnt surface nearby,” GUR noted, with the photographs these snapshots to accompany the message.

Russian blogger Fighterbomber said the fighter jet was hit by shrapnel and the damage it sustained was currently being assessed to see if the aircraft could be repaired.
