Amendment who “photographs” Ankara MP testified. The registration of NATO countries who support Hamas provides the amendment filed to the US Defense Budget (NDAA) by New York Congressman Dan Goldman.

In particular, the amendment provides that the US Chief of National Intelligence should to submit an annual report to Congress with the aim of listing the NATO countries that support Hamas.

Although the Turkish government is not named, it is believed to be a photographic amendment, as it is known that Turkey is the only NATO country that maintains close ties and supports the activities of this organization.

Given that the bill is currently under negotiation, the Hellenic American Institute (AHI) has called on its members across America to contact their district representatives.in order to request support for this particular amendment to be included in the final text of the 2025 defense budget.

What does the amendment provide for NATO countries and Hamas?

The amendment entitled “Report of NATO member countries supporting Hamas or its affiliates” features features: “Not later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Secretary of State, shall submit a report to the appropriate committees of Congress describing each country belonging to NATO -if any- which hosts members of Hamas, members from Hamas affiliates, financial assets of Hamas or its affiliates. The report should be submitted to the following House and Senate committees: Armed Services Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, and Homeland Security Committee.”
