A new video in which he states that Kiev and the key cities of Ukraine are under the control of the Ukrainian army, posted on Facebook the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We stood up and successfully fought the enemy attacks. The races continue. In many cities and regions of our state. But we know that we are protecting the country, the land, the future of our children. Kiev and the key cities around the capital are controlled by our army. The occupiers wanted to block the center of our state and put a puppet here, as in Donetsk. “We did not allow it,” said the Ukrainian president.
“The enemy has used everything against us: missiles, pursuers, unmanned aircraft, artillery, armored vehicles, saboteurs, paratroopers,” he said, adding that Moscow had hit residential areas and was trying to destroy power plants.
Calling on the West to be more decisive towards Russia, he noted that Ukraine has “the right to achieve membership in the European Union.”
“We already have the full support of the EU countries for the separation of Russia from the SWIFT system. I hope Germany and Hungary have the courage to support this decision. “We have the courage to defend our homeland, to defend Europe,” he added.
Addressing the Russian people, he called on the Kremlin to say “the war must end immediately.”
“We know that many people in Russia are simply shocked by the misery and cruelty of the government,” he said.
Earlier and after a conversation with him French President Emanuel MacronZelensky wrote on Twitter that his Western partners will deliver new weapons and equipment to Ukraine.
Sky News also reported that a total of 27 countries agreed to strengthen Ukrainian forces with weapons after a teleconference of donor countries organized late on Friday by the Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom Ben Wallace.
The armament will include anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons, as well as ammunition and medical supplies.
The donors believe that this aid can safely reach the possession of the Ukrainian armed forces despite the battles being waged with the Russian invading forces as far as Kiev.
Sky News, without naming the countries beyond the United Kingdom and the United States, says that even countries that before the invasion had avoided reinforcing the Ukrainian armed forces will send aid. Among them are countries that are not members of NATO.
