The former MP and sister of Marine Le Pen, Marie-Caroline Le Pen, announced her candidacy for the early parliamentary elections in France today.
64-year-old Marie-Caroline Le Pen, the eldest of Jean-Marie Le Pen’s three daughters, will run in Francois Fillon’s former constituency in the Sarthes region.
In 1988, Marie-Caroline Le Pen, along with her husband Philippe Olivier, had joined Bruno Mégret’s National Republican Movement (MNR) in 1988. At the time, Marie-Caroline Le Pen had fallen out with her family, reconciled then with them and returned to the National Front in 2016.
