The support of Western and other leaders at the summit in Switzerland for peace in Ukraine shows that international law can be restored, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the joint communiqué after the two-day summit held in Burgenstock.

“I hope we will be able to achieve results as quickly as possible,” he told the plenary. “We will prove to everyone that the UN Charter can be restored with full effectiveness,” the Ukrainian president said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that the participants of the peace summit agreed to continue working in ad hoc groups afterwards and that once “action plans for peace” are ready, the way will be opened for a second summit.

“We agreed to start working in special post-summit groups on specific ideas, proposals and developments that can restore security on various fronts,” the Ukrainian leader said at a joint press conference.

“When the action plans for peace are ready, it will pave the way for the second peace summit,” he said.
