Roseanne Cash says she’s ‘terrified’ about the US election
THE Roseanne Cass has said that the thought of Donald Trump becoming US president for a second time “terrifies” her ahead of the November presidential election.
The musician, who is the eldest daughter of the late country music legend, Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto addressed the political climate in the US as part of her participation in the Black Deer Festival of Country and Americana held in Eridge Park, Sussex, England.
Roseanne Cash told The Independent she was “really angry” about Trump’s 2016 election victory, recalling how her daughter Carrie Cowell called her crying and told her she felt nothing “mattered”.
It was a phone call that helped, the singer explained, draw inspiration for her 2018 album, the Grammy-nominated “She Remembers Everything.”
“It just got worse and worse,” Cash said of the time when Donald Trump was president of the United States. “It scares me – I have young granddaughters. I’m terrified. My country doesn’t make sense to me right now, I just hope we can calm down,” he added.
