Earlier today, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias had a teleconference with the Ambassador to the Consulate General of Mariupol, Ambassador Frangiskos Kostellenos, the Consul General Manolis Androulakis and the Consul General in Odessa Dimitris Dohtsis.
The purpose of the teleconference was to be informed about the latest developments, as well as the possibilities of assistance to Greek citizens and expatriates in Ukraine.
In this teleconference, the Consul General in Mariupol informed that the Mayor of the village of Sartana asked the population of the village to evacuate it and move to Mariupol, which is about ten kilometers away.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his gratitude to the above for the work they contribute and stressed that he will continue to be in constant contact with them, given that the security and protection of Greek citizens and Greeks is a top priority for our country.
Also present at the teleconference was Ambassador to Bucharest Sofia Grammata, who has coordinated the reception of citizens coming to Moldova and Romania from Ukraine.
