After two weeks of speeches, negotiations and protests, COP26, the UN climate conference in Glasgow, UK, comes to its final moments. The summit brought together nearly 200 countries to discuss how to prevent the climate crisis from getting worse — which would have severe consequences for the planet, with floods, droughts and other natural disasters becoming more frequent and intense.
One of the themes that dominated the negotiations at this COP was money. Countries, companies and NGOs discuss how to bear the costs of mitigation measures and not leave the burden to the poorest and most vulnerable.
At Breakfast this Friday (12), reporter from podcasts editor Jéssica Maes walks around COP26 and discusses climate finance. In Glasgow, she talks with Natalie Unterstell, director of the Talanoa Institute for climate regulation and risks, with the representative of the Bolivian government Sergio Arispe, with Marina Marçal, climate policy coordinator at the Clima e Sociedade Institute, and with journalist Ana Carolina Amaral, who subscribes to the blog Ambiência na sheet.
