Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders announced Friday that his party will join the European parliamentary group formed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“We are PVV (Party for Freedom) patriots, we love our country,” Wilders said in a press release.

“Strong and dominant. Stand up to illegal immigration. We stand for peace and freedom. And we support Ukraine. We protect our Judeo-Christian heritage. And our families,” he adds. “We want to join forces in the European Parliament and we will proudly join the ‘Patriots for Europe'”, underlines the leader of the Dutch extreme right.

Orban announced on Sunday his intention to form a new European parliamentary group, called Patriots for Europe, together with the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ) and the centrist movement of former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

Wilders’ party holds six seats in the European Parliament and until now belonged to the Identity and Democracy (ID) group.

A big winner in the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands, Wilders’ PVV is participating in a four-party coalition government.
