This is the tenth Democratic congressman to publicly call on President Biden to withdraw from the election race
The pressure on Joe Biden to end his dreams of a second presidential term is now taking the form of an avalanche. Democratic congressmen Brad Snyder and Hilary Solten they also called on the US president on Thursday to withdraw his candidacy for the November elections.
Underscoring his love and gratitude to the 81-year-old president for what he has given the country, the 63-year-old Snyder said in a statement that “the time has come for (Joe Biden) to hand over the baton heroically to a new generation of leaders who will guide us into the future.”
Earlier today, 42-year-old Hilary Solten made the same appeal via a post on the X platform. it is about the past, but about the future. It is time to hand over the baton (to the next one)”, he wrote and emphasized that “it is necessary to have the strongest possible candidate at the top of the ballot”.
So far, 11 members of parliament and one senator of the Democrats have publicly called on President Biden to withdraw from the election race. They are Congressmen Lloyd Doggett (Texas), Raul Grijalva (Arizona), Seth Moulton (Massachusetts), Mike Quigley (Illinois), Angie Craig (Minnesota), Adam Smith (Washington), Mickey Sherrill (New Jersey), Pat Ryan ( New York), Earl Blumenauer (Oregon), Hilary Solten (Michigan), Brad Snyder (Illinois) and Senator Peter Welch (Vermont).
