Family mourns – ‘Hatred for one man took the life of the man we loved the most’
The man who was shot dead at his election rally Donald Trump in Pennsylvania was 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, according to a Facebook post by his family and the state’s governor.
“The Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. Hate for one man took the life of the person we loved the most,” his sister said in her post.
Comperatore previously served as chief of the Buffalo Community Volunteer Fire Department, according to a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro said the 50-year-old Sarver resident died a hero as he bent over his family members to protect them when the shooting began.
“Corey was a staunch supporter of the former president and was thrilled to be there with him last night,” Shapiro said, adding, “Political differences can never, ever be resolved through violence.”
