“The Devil Wears Prada” fans were excited for the first look at Vanessa Williams as the legendary editor-in-chief of Runway magazine when the official Instagram of the upcoming musical adaptation of the film shared a short video of the actress in the role.

In the video, Williams appears as Miranda Priestly, entering the stage. “Miranda has arrived,” reads the screen as Williams steps onto a platform, wearing a stunning red dress with a matching red trench coat draped over her shoulders.

Once the platform stops moving, bringing her to stage level, she opens the lapels of her coat in the unique style befitting this iconic figure. An arrival that fully corresponds to the image we have of Miranda.

“That’s it,” the Instagram caption reads the clip.

Vanessa Williams and the producers of the upcoming musical adaptation announced in February that the Ugly Betty star will play Miranda on the West End stage when the show opens at London’s Dominion Theater in October 2024.

Williams and the production’s Instagram account shared videos of the actress as Miranda to make the announcement.

A teaser featured the memorable introduction by Nigel, Stanley Tucci’s character in the 2006 film, as the actress walks into her character’s office without revealing her face.
