A middle-class wedding in India costs around $25,000 – 28-year-old tycoon’s ‘extravaganza’ wedding tops $150 million
A few days ago, 28-year-old Indian Anant Ambani, son of tycoon Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, married Radhika Merchant, 29, in a wedding extravaganza, which many called the “wedding of the year” and which was attended by world leaders, famous politicians, Hollywood stars and wealthy businessmen.
A middle-class wedding in India costs around $25,000 – wedding planners estimate that Ambani’s wedding cost more than $156 million. It was even rumored that Rihanna was paid $7 million to sing at the reception, while Justin Bieber was paid $10 million.
How much does a wedding cost in different countries of the world?
On the occasion of the extravagant Indian wedding, the online magazine The Knot presented a price chart for a “middle-class” wedding in different countries of the world, from the USA (the most expensive) to Colombia (the cheapest).
An average wedding at United States cost in 2023 35,000 dollars – or about $300 per guest – not counting wedding rings or honeymoons.
They followed it United Kingdom with 28,500 dollarsthe Spain with 25,700 dollarsthe Italy with $23,900 and the France with 21,800 dollars.
In the lowest positions are Brazil ($9,000), the Mexico ($8,700) and h Colombia ($5,250).
As for its average size guest listthen the India comes first out of the 15 countries that participated in the survey, with 326 guests on average (if Greece participated, it would probably come first in the category).
It is followed by the USA with 146, Uruguay with 129, Brazil with 124 and Spain with 121.
