The legend of American stand-up comedy, Bob Newhart, has died at the age of 94.
The star of The Bob Newhart Show, Newhart died after a series of brief illnesses, a spokesman for the actor said.
Bob Newhart, the genteel but sharply satirical comic whose TV series “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart” were huge hits throughout the 1970s and ’80s, died Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 94.

Newhart became a stand-up comedian after starting his career as an accountant in Chicago.

In 1999 he got his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in 2007 he was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
