THE Donald Trumpheld at Michigan his first campaign rally since the assassination attempt on him, triumphantly saying that “last week I took a bullet for democracy”.
At the same rally, Republican vice presidential candidate Jay Dee Vance launched an attack on the vice president Kamala Harriswho is considered the early favorite to take over the Democratic nomination if Joe Biden drops out.

Trump then thanked Dr. Ronny Jackson before paying tribute to those in attendance who were seriously injured – one killed – by Thomas Crooks last Saturday.
“We continue to pray for the recovery of the citizens injured in the attack. We remain in touch and have the deepest respect for Corey Comperatore’s family. Protect people from this person’s bullets. Corey was a hero and we will have his memory in our hearts forever. A great hero. He was a big fan of mine and we will never forget him.”
“Biden is weak – Pelosi turns on him like a dog”
Trump has repeatedly mocked 81-year-old US President Joe Biden, whom he called “weak”. Mocking Democrats trying to get Biden to drop out of the race, he took aim at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying:
“He’s turned on Biden like a dog.”
He also said that China’s president Xi Jinping she sent him a “beautiful message” when she found out what happened, commenting that they had a “very good” relationship during his days in the White House.
