A virtual event on Friday by Vice President Kamala Harris with around 300 major Democratic donors seems to have turned into a failure, with some even citing “mismanagement” and calling the whole event “ridiculous”..

“It was a total failure,” said one participant, who added that “it was poorly planned.”

The virtual event was organized by Jen O’Malley Dillon, the chairman of Joe Biden’s campaign, and not from the campaign’s finance team, according to a source cited by NBC. One panelist said the donors represented a wide range of views, with some die-hard Biden fans, some unconvinced about him staying in the presidential race and others expressing an in-between view.

During the event, Harris, who was invited to participate, praised Biden, according to campaign officials.

“We know which candidate in this election is putting the American people first: our president, Joe Biden,” he said, according to campaign officials. “Every decision the Oval Office makes, it thinks about how it will affect working Americans.”

Kamala Harris also spoke positively about the Democrats’ chances of defeating former President Donald Trump. ” “It’s something I feel strongly about and you should all listen and pass it on to your friends. We will win this election. We will win”, asserted the Vice-President.

The event with donors began with presentations by organizers who expressed their anger at the ongoing debate within the Democratic Party over Biden’s withdrawal.

During the event, participants were called on to “stand behind” Biden and not continue efforts to have the president resign. “Please help us de-escalate this debate publicly,” said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes, according to NBC News. “It’s time to stop the leaks and rampant rumours. Your message has been heard and received. But every day that we continue this publicly chaotic debate, we come closer to defeat, regardless of who the candidate is.” This did not please some donors, the American media points out.

“These are donors who are not used to being observed and told what to do,” the report said, citing a source from the event.
