IMF Director General Georgieva welcomes the position of G20 in favor of “tax justice”
The director general of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) yesterday praised the position of the G20 in favor of “tax justice”, deeming the decision “timely” and “welcome” by its member states to “cooperate” to tax the owners of the largest properties.
“The shared vision of G20 ministers on progressive taxation is timely and welcome, as the need to recover fiscal margins while simultaneously addressing social and development needs entails difficult decisions in many countries,” Kristalina Georgieva stressed in a press release given in publicity from its services. In her view, “the promotion of tax justice will help ensure the social acceptance of these decisions”.
