On average 7 out of 10 high speed trains will run throughout the day in France on the country’s northern, western and southwestern railways, French railway company SNCF announced today, a day after the acts of sabotage committed against the high-speed rail network (TGV) before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics and the chaos caused in transport.

The French rail company also predicted average delays of one to two hours on those three rail axes, also noting that traffic “on the northern axis” was still experiencing problems.

On Monday the normalization of traffic

Traffic on France’s high-speed rail network is expected to return to normal levels by Monday, Transport Minister Patrice Vergriet said today after acts of sabotage on the network caused chaos for commuters yesterday.

“The full return to normality is expected on Monday,” the minister told reporters during a briefing on the development of the situation.
