The Ukrainian military announced today that it had successfully hit a Russian oil depot in its territory Kursk overnight, one of a series of attacks targeting its oil storage and production facilities of Russia the last months.

The Kyiv says the facilities are legitimate military targets in support of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, now in its 29th month. Kiev also faces these attacks as a response to Russia’s devastating strikes on Ukraine’s energy system.

“According to intelligence information, as a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the enemy facility,” the General Staff said in a Facebook post.

The warehouse in the settlement of Vozi was targeted in a joint operation by the Security Service of Ukraine and other forces, the statement added

The acting governor of the Kursk region stated through a post on Telegram that air defense destroyed four Ukrainian missiles over two areas overnight.

On Sunday, the Ukrainian military announced that it had hit an oil depot in the Polevaya region. Three tanks caught fire after a drone attack, the governor said.

The fire was fully extinguished only today, he added.
