“The rules will be similar to the rules of my debate with Sleeping Joe, who was treated horribly by his own party, but with a large audience”Trump said, referring to President Joe Biden, who has since withdrawn from his re-election campaign.

The post was taken down and replaced minutes later with a new one, with Trump deleting the proposal for a “big” ‘Town Hall’ event (ie one with an audience asking questions) on the same date if Harris “she is unwilling or unable to engage in debate.’

Harris had answered last month that she is “ready” when Fox News suggested a presidential debate between the two candidates on September 17.

After Biden dropped out of the presidential race on July 21 and endorsed Harris, Trump said he would not engage in a telefight with her because she is not her party’s official nominee.
