Hezbollah fired “dozens” of rockets at Israel late Saturday night, it said, in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and in retaliation for recent Israeli attacks in the southern part of Lebanon.
“The Islamic Resistance included the settlement of Beit Hillel (in northern Israel) in its list of targets and bombarded it for the first time with dozens of rockets,” Hezbollah’s statement said.

According to Israeli media, most of the rockets were intercepted by air defense systems. Footage posted on social media shows Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system intercepting the missiles. There are no reports of casualties.

USA, Jordan and Britain “call” citizens to leave Lebanon
The US embassy in Beirut has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon on “whatever ticket is available”, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Specifically, the US embassy in Beirut he said: “We encourage those wishing to depart Lebanon to book whatever ticket is available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their first choice route. US citizens who do not have the money to return to the United States can contact the embassy for financial assistance through repatriation loans. We recommend that U.S. citizens who choose not to depart Lebanon prepare contingency plans for emergencies and be prepared to shelter in place for an extended period of time.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan it also issued advisories to its citizens, telling those in Lebanon to leave immediately and warning others not to travel there.
Canada it has also warned its nationals to avoid travel to Israel, on top of the existing advice it has given them preventing them from going to Lebanon, because the “situation may deteriorate further without warning” in the region.
The United Kingdom has stepped up preparations for a possible evacuation of British citizens from Lebanon. On Saturday, the government reiterated its call for British nationals to leave while “commercial options are still available”, joining the US and many other countries.
Also, France today called on its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country due to the risk of military escalation in the Middle East, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today in a travel advisory. The French Foreign Ministry reiterated that it recommends that French citizens not travel to Lebanon.
Dozens of airlines are suspending flights to Lebanon and Israel one by one, however, some airlines are still flying, leaving the option for citizens to leave the region still available.
Forces are gathering in the Middle East
Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Saturday that consular experts, border force officials and military personnel have been developed in the area as part of planning for “a range of possible conflict scenarios.”
The landing ship RFA Cardigan Bay and HMS Duncan are already in the eastern Mediterranean and the Air Force is placing transport helicopters on standby, the statement said.
The American Pentagon orders reinforcements to be sent to the area with an aircraft carrier, cruisers, destroyers and additional fighters. Since last Friday, the Pentagon has ordered warships and fighter jets to rush to the area, following threats from Iran and its allies Hamas and Hezbollah.
