THE Washington estimates that an attack of Iran and her Hezbollah in the Israel could begin within the next 24 to 48 hours, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reportedly told his G7 counterparts.

This is reported by the website Axios, citing sources briefed on the communication.

According to the report, Blinken spoke with his counterparts amid US efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and prevent an all-out war.

As the Times of Istrael reports, the US believes an Iranian attack is inevitable after the assassination of top Hezbollah and Hamas officials last week. In this context Blinken told his counterparts that the best way to avoid a regional war is to pressure Tehran to limit the scope of its attack.

Today, Mr US President Biden is expected to convene the national security team to discuss developments in Middle East. Also, as announced by the White House, there will be communication with the King of Jordan

In the meantime, his American counterpart had contact with the Israeli Defense Minister.

According to his office Lloyd Austin, with Yoav Galand discussed Israel’s right to self-defense, but also the steps the US is taking to strengthen the protection of Israel and its own forces in the region.

Yesterday a White House official had declared that the US is preparing “for any eventuality”, while a few days ago the Pentagon announced that the US military presence in the Middle East is being strengthened.

In the meantime, warning sirens sounded on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon in the evening.

According to the Israeli army, an officer and a soldier were injured by rocket fire from the Lebanese side.
