Israel’s military said this evening it had neutralized “at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists” in its deadly airstrike on a Gaza school that sparked international outrage.

“Following an intelligence investigation, we can confirm that at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists have been neutralized“, the army emphasized in a statement in which it published the names and photographs it presents as those of the slain militants.

“The terrorists were attempting to carry out attacks against Israeli soldiers (…) from inside the compound” of the school building complex, the announcement added.

The Israeli military additionally stated that the raid was “with the use of three precision munitions” and that “the area where the terrorists were located did not suffer significant damage».

According to the Civil Protection of the Palestinian enclave, 93 Palestinians were killed by the strike on the school building complex.
