The Guards of the Revolution of Iran are holding military training exercises in the western part of the country, which will continue until Tuesday, Iran’s official news agency reported today.

High schools, which started on Friday, continue in the western province Kermanshah, near the border with Iraq, with the goal of “improving combat readiness and vigilance,” he told the IRNA an officer in the Iranian armed forces.

High schools take place as Iran vows to hit back at Israel after killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya on July 31 in Tehran.

The Iran and the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas accuse Israel of assassinating Haniya on July 31. Israel has neither claimed nor denied responsibility for the killing, which reignited fears that the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip could spill over into the wider Middle East.

As reported by Iranian media, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards Ali Fadavi said Friday that Iran’s supreme leader’s orders to respond harshly to Israel and avenge Haniya’s death were clear and would be implemented in the “best possible way.”
