Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian missile attack on Kiev early in the morning, the capital’s civil administration announced without mentioning any damage or injuries.

“Early this morning, around 05:00 (local and Greek time), the enemy used ballistic weapons to launch a missile attack against Kyiv,” authorities said on Telegram. And according to the same source, it is “very likely” that it was about “North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles.”

According to preliminary information, the missiles were intercepted as they approached the Ukrainian capital and thus could not reach their target, the administration says.

“Almost simultaneously” moreover, Kiev was also targeted by Russian attack drones, but all were “destroyed” by air defenses outside the Kiev perimeter, the authorities claimed. “No damage was found in Kiev and there is no information about casualties,” added the same source.

On the other side of the front line, Russian anti-aircraft defenses crumbled five drones launched overnight from Ukraine targeting the Russian border regions of Kursk, Belgorod and Rostov, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today.

Two drones were shot down over the territory of the Belgorod region, one over the Kursk region and two over the Rostov region, the ministry said via Telegram.

It is noted that the unanswered questions about the situation that has developed in the war between Ukraine and in Russia there are dozens. Kiev seems to have “caught Moscow asleep” and with a surprise operation, counterattacked on Russian territory, with the Ukrainian army reaching several kilometers inside Russian territory.

A big question is this: What does Ukraine expect from the invasion of Russian territory?

A second big question is her reaction of Russiawhich, so far, appears to be more than subdued.

The fighting, and by extension the interest of the international community, has shifted to the Kursk region, which has been significantly affected by the Ukrainian forces.

According to US officials, Russia has “pulled” a large number of troops from the Ukrainian front, to the Russian border, in order to deal with the threat on its soil.

Reports from Western countries speak of a plan drawn up in absolute secrecy by Kiev, surprising even close allies.

Given the Russian occupation of the Donbass and other Russian-linked areas of Ukraine, another big question that arises is this: How did Kiev plan and implement its plan?

The answer is multi-pronged
