Tragic are the coincidences of fate for two tech tycoons who set up a business, sold it, and then were accused of fraud.

The reason for Stephen Chamberlain and Mike Lynch who lost their lives a few hours apart.

The first, last Saturday in a traffic accident and the second, is probably dead, after the luxury yacht sank off Palermo, Sicily.

The two men had been charged with fraud in the US after selling Autonomy software for $11 billion. Both were acquitted in this case.

Lynch and his daughter are missing after their luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily yesterday.

Chamberlain, was the former vice president of finance at Autonomy. Before his trial in the US, he was the former chief operating officer of British cyber security firm Darktrace.

Shipwreck – Investigations

The search for those missing from the yacht off the coast of Sicily resumed on Tuesday.

Six tourists – including Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter – are still missing from the yacht named Bayesian which was struck during heavy storms in the early hours of Monday. His wife, Angela Bacares, was rescued.

Morgan Stanley International Bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo are also among the missing.
