A 48-year-old Italian man is accused of murdering four elderly people, whom he cared for over the past 10 years, Italian media reported today.

Mario Euticia, aged 48, presented himself at a carabinieri station in Caserta, southern Italy on Thursday, claiming responsibility for the deaths of four people he was caring for.

I want someone to arrest me. Continuing to work, I would probably do it again,” she said, according to her website Corriere della Sera.

I wanted to end their suffering,” she also said, according to her website La Repubblica.

As Corriere writes, the four elderly people all suffered from cancer and Mario Euticia killed them by increasing the dose of the drugs they were receiving, including those for pain.

Two of his victims have been identified, a 95-year-old who died last March and an 88-year-old who died in December 2023, whose deaths were not considered suspicious given their medical conditions.

The other two deaths, for which he is accused, occurred in 2014 in the city of Latina, within walking distance of Romebut the victims have not yet been identified.
