The funeral of Alain Delon, the legend of the cinema, took place late this afternoon in his private chapel on his estate in Duchy, in central France, where the actor died on Sunday, August 18 at the age of 88, it was learned from Agence France-Presse by his relatives.

Almost 50 guests, carefully selected persons from Delon’s inner circle, attended the funeral and burial of the sacred monster of the 7th art, which was held in a close family circle, as was his wish.

The ceremony was attended only by the children of the actor and 50 more people who received invitations.

However, the family barred Delon’s last companion and carer in the last years of his life, 66-year-old Hiromi Rollins, from attending the private ceremony.

In one of his last interviews, in the magazine “Paris Match” in 2021, Alain Delon had stated that he wanted a universal, “discreet” funeral, with only relatives and close friends and associates present.

“I don’t want a public funeral. I’m not interested in that at all,” the late star had said.

On several occasions he had even expressed his desire to be buried near his dogs, which he loved very much.

The family feud with Rollins

Japanese-born Hiromi Rollin lived with Alain Delon at his estate for 17 years.

In 2023 the actor’s three children – Alain Fabien, Anouska and Anthony – filed a lawsuit against Rollins for moral harassment, embezzlement of mail and animal abuse, until they managed to evict her from Duchy.

Rollins was cleared of the charges on suspicion.

After the death of Alain Delon on August 18, 2024, the 66-year-old devastated told Le Figaro newspaper that his children did not let her see her beloved one last time before he died, although Delon himself wanted to see her.
