An IT system failure, of unknown cause, has today affected the operation of a regional airport and several public services in the Netherlands, among them the Coast Guard and the Military Police.

Aircraft at Eindhoven airport in the southeastern Netherlands remained grounded.

“Due to network problems, air traffic is not possible at Eindhoven Airport. We do not yet know when the problem will be resolved,” the airport said on its website.

The Netherlands’ main airport, Schiphol near Amsterdam, is operating normally, but the technical failure appears to have affected other public services in the country.

The Coast Guard announced that due to the damage it is not possible to communicate with the public, so it recommended that citizens call 112 if there is an emergency.

The Dutch Military Police contact center is also down, and it is not possible to make an appointment to get vaccinated against covid-19.
