Almost the entire southern part has fallen into Russian hands Of Ukraineleaving his country Zelensky without a corridor to the Black Sea.

In the last few hours, Russian troops have been besieging the port city of Nikolaev, which is a “key” to reach Odessa.

If Odessa falls, the Russians will have conquered all of southern Ukraine and will have full control of access to the Black Sea.

In a video posted on the internet, the governor of the province, Vitaly Kim, stated that fighting is raging in some areas of the city. “Let us not be upset,” he added.

As the adviser of the Ukrainian president stated later, the advance of the Russian troops in the Ukrainian city has stopped.

“We are moderately optimistic about the future prospects of the enemy attack, I believe it will stop in other areas as well,” said military adviser Oleksiy Arestovich.

Next goal is Odessa

Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov said Russia’s goal appears to be to encircle Odessa with land and naval forces, cutting off Ukraine’s access to the Black Sea and the country’s main link to the world economy.

“My feeling is that they will encircle Odessa and hold this position as long as they continue their attack on Kyiv,” said Trukhanov, a view shared by the Ukrainian armed forces.

Mariupol, despite the constant attack by Russian forces, remains under the control of Ukraine, although water and electricity have been cut off and transmission lines have been blocked.

The Ukrainian army estimates that Russia is preparing for the landing of marines in Zatoka, on the shores of the Black Sea.

The statement said: “In the Black Sea, a naval group of Russian occupiers withdrew from naval bases in order to strike the surface forces of a group of different forces of the Ukrainian Navy.

“At the same time, the enemy continues to prepare for the landing of Marines in Zatoka.”

In Chernihiv a total of 47 people were killed in airstrikes in a residential area of the city of northern Ukraine.

The Russians have not yet captured Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city in the east, despite having leveled much of it.

The Zaporizhia nuclear plant is under Russian control

However, Putin’s forces now control Europe’s largest nuclear plant, northeast of the Kherson, following an overnight firefight – sparking international concern. The flames have been extinguished.

Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed in a Russian rocket attack on a nuclear power plant and two others were injured, according to the Ukrainian state nuclear company.

Earlier, Rafael Mariano Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, confirmed that no nuclear material had been leaked in the airstrike, that the attack had not affected any of the plant’s six reactors, but had caused a “fire” in a training camp. Grossi said the situation remained “unstable” in Zaporizhia, although Ukrainian personnel remained in the control room.
