A major fire, which caused an explosion at a local ammunition depot, according to Russian channels on Telegram, broke out today after a Ukrainian drone attack on Russian region of Voronezhbordering with Ukrainewhere residents were also ordered to evacuate, the local governor announced.

Russian air defense systems “detected and neutralized a drone” early this morning, the commander wrote on Telegram Alexander Gusev.

Although “no one was injured,” the crash of the drone caused a fire on the ground “which spread to explosive objects and an explosion occurred,” the commander said, without elaborating on the nature of those objects or the extent of the damage.

Because of the fire, “it was decided to evacuate the inhabitants of one village” to neighboring settlements, where most of them found refuge with friends and relatives, according to the same source.

According to Russian Telegram channels and observers, the fire broke out in a local ammunition depot.
