“We are working on it,” the US president said when asked about the request by his Ukrainian counterpart to hit bases from which Russian attacks are launched.
US President Joe Biden assured on Tuesday that his administration is “working” to give Ukraine the ability to use longer-range missiles against Russian targets.
“We’re working on it,” the US president said when asked about the demand being pushed by his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky — to hit bases from which Russian attacks are launched.
He made the comment after Western governments announced that Iran had supplied Russia with ballistic missiles for use in the war in Ukraine, which they said had prompted them to move forward with new sanctions against Tehran.
Kiev has recently been demanding that its allies proceed with the lifting of restrictions on the use of weapons supplied to it in order to hit “legitimate” military targets on Russian soil, in particular air bases from which aircraft take off to hit Ukrainian territory.
