At least 356 dead from Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon
Northern Arros or in Greek “Arrows of the North” is what the Israeli army called the operations in Lebanon.
At least 356 people were killed – among them 24 children and 42 women – from today’s Israeli raids in Lebanon, according to the latest tally from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Another 1,246 people were injured by the Israeli strikes, according to the same source.
The previous account of the Lebanese Ministry of Health spoke of at least 274 dead and 1,024 injured.
Specifically, the Israeli army launched missiles against Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa Valley, as well as in Beirut, immediately after the expiration of the deadline which had given residents to evacuate the area and as fears of a wider regional war grew as Israel on Monday carried out its deadliest raids on Lebanon since 2006.
Tens of thousands of people are fleeing to southern Lebanon “because of Israeli atrocities”, Lebanese crisis management minister Nasser Yassin told Reuters today.
