Russian bombings are blocking the evacuation of civilians from Kyiv, Mariupol, Sumy, Kharkiv, Volnovakha and Nikolaev, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this afternoon.
“This prevents the safe passage of humanitarian corridors for Ukrainians and foreign nationals, as well as the delivery of medicines and food,” she said in a statement.
The ministry called on foreign leaders to force Russia to observe a ceasefire to prevent what it said was a humanitarian catastrophe.
Russian and Ukrainian delegations have just begun a third round of talks in Belarus, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported.
