Yemen’s Houthis say they will escalate military operations against Israel in response to its strikes in the country, a day after an Israeli attack on Houthi targets killed five people and wounded 57, according to the Yemeni group’s spokesman.

According to the Israeli military, dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft, including fighter jets, refueling and spy planes, took part in the raids around 1,800 kilometers from Israel.

The strikes targeted sites used by the Houthi regime for military purposes in Hodeidah and the nearby port of Ras Issa in western Yemen, the IDF said.

“The armed forces attacked power plants and a port, which are used to import oil. “Through the targeted infrastructure and ports, the Houthi regime is transporting Iranian weapons into the region and supplies for military purposes, including oil,” the military said.

The IDF emphasizes that the strikes were carried out in response to recent Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Israel, including three this month.

This is Israel’s second attack on Yemen. It was preceded by another last July.

“For us, no place is too far”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who watched Israeli airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen from the air force’s command and control room, told Platform X: “The message is clear, for us, no place is too far.”

The Houthis, allies of Iran and Hezbollah, had opened a front against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. On Saturday, they claimed responsibility for launching a missile targeting Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.

Residents of Hodaida said the strikes caused blackouts in many parts of the city.

Yesterday the Houthis announced that the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah “will strengthen their resolve” for their attacks against Israel.

Since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have launched numerous attacks on Israel, and in July, a drone strike in Tel Aviv killed a civilian. They often target merchant ships, which they say are linked to Israel, the US or Britain, in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The US has launched strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, sometimes with the help of the British military.

Condemns Iran

Lebanon must be supported so that Israel does not attack the countries of the Axis of Resistance. Israel should not be allowed to attack “Axis of Resistance” countries, one after the other, Iranian President Masoud Pezheskian said yesterday.

According to Iran’s state media, Pezeshkian said Lebanon should be supported. “Lebanese fighters should not be left alone in this battle so that the Zionist regime (ie Israel) does not attack the countries of the Axis of Resistance (ie as Iran and its allies call themselves) , one after another,” he said.

“We cannot accept such actions and they will not go unanswered. A decisive reaction is necessary,” Pezeskian added.

Iran condemned Israel’s strikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port earlier, saying they targeted a power plant and fuel tanks, according to the country’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani.

Sirens sounded yesterday in Israel – A missile from Yemen was intercepted

More specifically, sirens sounded the day before yesterday afternoon in central Israel, including Tel Aviv, after the launch of a missile from Yemen.

The Israeli military yesterday confirmed that a missile was fired, probably by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, which was headed for Israeli territory but was intercepted by air defenses.

According to the Houthis’ announcement, they fired a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport during the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
