At least 181 surface-to-surface ballistic missiles entered its airspace Israel on Tuesday night, which were launched from various parts of Iran. Sirens sounded in two-thirds of Israeli territory and according to official reports material damage was caused to a school in a provincial town with the only dead being a Palestinian of Palestinian origin. Gauzewho was killed by fragments of an Iranian missile on the outskirts of Jericho in the West Bank. On the contrary, Iranian officials claim that yesterday’s missile attack hit 80% of the targets that had been selected.

Last night’s developments were accompanied by celebrations in the central parts of many Iranian cities, with local media emphasizing that Iran had retaliated in a powerful way for the assassination of Ismail Haniya and Hassan Nasrallah, sending a resounding message to Israel about its ground operation in the South Lebanon, which completes its first twenty-four hours.

An Iranian “strategic target” was chosen

The Revolutionary Guards’ warning that Iran will continue its missile attacks if Israel retaliates does not appear to be swaying Israeli decision-making centers. According to state media leaks in Israel, the Cabinet has reportedly already selected the “strategic target” inside Iranian territory. The only question that remains unanswered is when the Israeli military operation will be implemented.

Nevertheless, the various reports and analysts’ estimates of when and how the Israelis will react are strongly reminiscent of the “concerted choreography” that unfolded last April, during that first direct Iran-Israel military conflict. In this project, an important role is expected to be taken by the White House, whose officials state that they are in constant contact with the Israeli side to decide on a specific counterattack method.
