Biden rules out strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure – Tehran has long signaled that attacks on its oil and gas industry are a ‘red line’
The Middle East is closer than ever to total war as following the scenario of Israel striking Iran’s energy infrastructure, Tehran threatens to retaliate in kind.
And while U.S. officials say the White House is working to limit Israel’s response to Iran’s barrage of ballistic missiles fired at the country on Tuesday, the sense is that Israel is in no rush to retaliate, but surprise has not been ruled out.
According to the SKAI analyst from Washington, Michalis Ignatiou, according to confirmed information, it seems that there was a compromise between the US and Israel on the goals. The American president, Joe Biden, ruled out a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and retreated to a possible blow to the energy infrastructure in the energy facilities, oil and gas plants.
But officials in the United States and Europe fear that a blow to Iran’s economic targets could set off a dangerous chain reaction.
Tehran has long signaled that attacks on its oil and gas industry are a “red line”.
On Friday, Tehran announced through the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Ali Fadavi, that Iran would target Israeli energy and gas facilities if Israel retaliated.
“If the occupiers make such a mistake, we will target all energy sources, facilities and all refineries and gas fields,” Fadavi said.
