The Israeli army is calling on residents of certain buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut to evacuate them immediately, according to a post on the social media platform X.

The Middle East is on fire

Meanwhile, the Middle East is once again on the brink of a wider and catastrophic conflict as everything shows that Israel’s response to Iran’s missile attack may take place even in the next few hours, according to what SKAI’s envoy to the Middle East reports , Stavros Ioannidis.

According to information, the military has submitted its proposal to the political leadership for a strike that will be harsh, will minimize the risks but will be an opportunity to punish Iran.

In the meantime, as the reports that a strike is imminent, the head of the Central Command of the United States (CENTCOM) General Michael Kurila has also arrived in Israel and his presence is not at all considered accidental.

At the same time, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in a speech he addressed to the citizens of Israel, repeated his decision to respond to Iran for the attack with ballistic missiles.

“No country in the world would accept such an attack on its cities and citizens, not even Israel,” Netanyahu said in his speech. “Israel has the duty and the right to defend itself and respond to these attacks — and we will.”

Israel says it is preparing its response to Iran, strikes in Lebanon and Gaza

Israel is “preparing a response” to a missile attack launched on its soil by Iran, a military official said today, as the Israeli military launched new strikes against Tehran’s allies Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

The Iranian attack on Tuesday, the second since April, and the threat of an Israeli response, have fueled fears of a Middle East flare-up.

Israel is “preparing a response”, the military official told AFP, asking not to be named, two days before the first anniversary of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israeli soil on October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza Strip.

Israel will respond to Iran for the missile attack launched by Tehran when the time is right, military spokesman Daniel Haggari said, adding that two air bases hit by the attack remained fully operational and no aircraft were damaged.

“How we respond to this shameful attack will depend on the manner, location and time we decide, as directed by the political leadership,” Haggari said at the press briefing.

The army spokesman also said the army had killed 440 Lebanese Hezbollah fighters since the start of Monday’s ground offensive against the Islamist movement in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces have been stepping up their bombardment.

“Since the beginning (of the operation), the (armed) forces have killed nearly 440 terrorists, including 30 commanders of different ranks,” during ground and air operations, he stressed.

After weakening Hamas during a devastating retaliatory operation that continues in the besieged Palestinian territory, Israel in mid-September shifted most of its operations to the Lebanese front, which Hezbollah opened in a show of support for Hamas when the war began in Gauze.

The Israeli military launched heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon, killing on September 27 its leader Hassan Nasrallah, considered the most powerful man in the country, in a raid on the Shiite movement’s headquarters, which Israel says is under buildings in the southern suburb of Beirut.

In the early hours of Friday, the army bombed the southern suburb, targeting, according to the Israeli news website Ynet, Hashem Safyeddin, a potential successor to Nasrallah.

The army did not confirm this information.
