“I believe that there are public and private officials who illegally secure some information and sell it,” said the Italian prime minister
The Italian prime minister Georgia Meloni in her tonight’s interview on the television network Canale 5, of the Berlusconi group, she referred to the case of illegal access to her bank account – like that of thousands of other citizens – by a former employee of the Intesa San Paolo bank.
More specifically, speaking on the main news bulletin of the Italian channel, Meloni emphasized: “I have a certain explanation for this whole case, but I hope that, at some point, the judicial truth will arrive. You know, there are thieves, who enter the house, steal the valuables and sell them to the receiver. I believe the same is true of the broader information market. I believe that there are public and private officials who illegally secure some information and then sell it on the market. Who do they sell them to? We are waiting for the answer. We can assume that behind all this, there are interests”.
Referring, in more detail, to the personal monitoring of the bank account, the Italian prime minister he added: “There are thousands of people, victims of these illegal banking surveillances. If you ask me why, as far as politicians are concerned, they are almost all center-right and why I am the most bagged person in Italy, I will answer that in all this drama, there is good news: that they passed my life by scanner and found nothing. This, perhaps, is the reason why I am bagged so much. There are probably pressure groups in our country. These groups do not want to accept that there is someone in the government who does not succumb to pressure, who cannot be the object of blackmail, and they try, perhaps, to get him out of the way in other ways. But I’m afraid they won’t succeed.”
