Allegations of the existence of biological laboratories in Ukraine – and in fact near the border with Russia – were repeated by the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, in an ongoing press conference.
Zakharova referred to what the Russians allegedly discovered after a special military operation and turned her arrows against the United States, saying that Kiev’s military biological program was funded by the United States Department of Defense.
Ms. Zakharova went one step further after the allegations made yesterday, saying that international control is needed over Ukraine’s biological program, but that the United States is not cooperating in that direction.
In addition, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the “special military operation” of Russia in Ukraine does not aim to overthrow the government Zelensky or the destruction of the country’s infrastructure.
He said the aim of the Russian military operation was to protect the Donetsk and Luhansk Democratic Republics, to demilitarize and “de-Nazify” Ukraine and to eliminate the military threat to Russia, which – as he said – stems from the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO.
“We do not aim at occupying Ukraine or destroying its infrastructure or overthrowing the current government. “We are not targeting the population,” said a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Agreements are often not respected. “We call on the Ukrainian side to do its utmost to ensure a safe passage for civilians, and we hope that a more important step will be taken in the next round of negotiations,” Zakharova said.
He added, however, that there is progress in the negotiations.
