The Turkish government had designated him as the most wanted terrorist and accused him of leading the so-called Gulen terrorist organization, as he called his movement.
An arrest warrant had been issued against him by a Turkish court.
Gulen lived in self-exile in Pennsylvania, while Turkey requested his extradition.
