The humanitarian tragedy in Ukraine is highlighted by photos from the Russian attack at the Children’s Hospital and Maternity Hospital in the besieged Mariupol that saw the light of day on Wednesday, with pregnant women leaving and other civilians leaving the hospital with pain and terror painted on their faces.
According to local authorities, during the Russian bombing, they were injured at least 17 people.
“Today, the Russian occupiers launched an air raid on a maternity hospital in Mariupol, where pregnant women and medical personnel were at the time,” the KyivPost newspaper commented.

Russia denies targeting civilians in what it calls a “special operation” in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the news that a children’s hospital in Mariupol had been completely destroyed by Russian bombing. “You have power but you seem to be losing humanity,” was his message to the West.
Adviser to the President of Ukraine Mikhail Pontolyak complained that pregnant women and children are under the rubble.
For his part, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Koulempa accused Russia of holding 400,000 Mariupol residents hostage by bombing the southern Ukrainian port city despite efforts to create a safe humanitarian corridor for civilians.
“Almost 3,000 newborn babies “Russia continues to hold more than 400,000 people hostage in Mariupol, obstructing humanitarian aid and evacuation,” he wrote on Twitter. The bombings continue. “
Mariupol. Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity. pic.twitter.com/FoaNdbKH5k

Russia continues holding hostage over 400,000 people in Mariupol, blocks humanitarian aid and evacuation. Indiscriminate shelling continues. Almost 3,000 newborn babies lack medicine and food. I urge the world to act! Force Russia to stop its barbaric war on civilians and babies!

Mariupol is being erased by RF shells on our eyes. A direct blow at the maternity center has happened. Women in labor and kids are under the wreckage. Instead of new lives – deaths. Won’t it be enough to close the ???????? sky from missiles? Isn’t it an argument to stop the killing? pic.twitter.com/lwUNrg4AkV
