War in Ukraine: Bombings in Ochtyrka and anxiety for Kyiv – Lavrov in Antalya

The Ukrainians continue to live in the horror of war as for 15 days the Russians carried out airstrikes on several cities.

Residential areas in the town of Ohtirka were reportedly bombed, while there are reports that part of the area’s gas transmission network was hit.

Kyiv remains under siege.

During the night, the sirens sounded again in the city, while the residents received messages on their mobile phones, to be on standby.

A regional official spoke about 17 injured, after the Russian bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol yesterday.

The news was confirmed by the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, however, claiming that the maternity hospital was bombed because it had been evacuated and occupied by Ukrainian nationalists.

Pictures that came to light after the bombing show injured pregnant women being transported on stretchers outside the building.

Europeans are meeting

The Ukrainian crisis is expected to be brought to the fore at the European Union Summit, which is meeting informally today and tomorrow in Versailles.

Lavrov in Antalya

In Antalya, Turkey, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is meeting overnight with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.

Joe Biden and Tayyip Erdogan will have a telephone conversation in the afternoon.
