Mariupol is under attack from the air and according to the municipal council, residential buildings have been affected.

In fact, a humanitarian convoy trying to reach the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol was forced to return today due to the fighting, said Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Verestsuk, while the city council announced that there were new Russian bombings.

“Bombs hit houses”, said the city council of Mariupol in an online post.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba asked his Russian counterpart Dmitry Peshkov, with whom he met in Antalya to create a humanitarian corridor inside and outside Mariupol and to have a 24-hour ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, but did not make any commitment.

Yesterday the Russian forces bombed a maternity hospital claiming that there was an army inside, however photos from the attack show pregnant women being carried on stretchers outside the building. A shock photo was published by the Associated Press from a mass grave in the area.

Mariupol is an industrial city in a key port on the Sea of ​​Azov and before the Russian invasion had a population of 450,000.
