The Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is touring Michigan today, while her Republican opponent, Donald Trump will make stops in three key eastern states in the final days of the election campaign, with estimates suggesting the outcome of the presidential election is likely to be decided by a small portion of American voters.

Polls show a historic election battle between the candidates within arm’s reach, while the two campaigns say they cannot say with certainty which of the two presidential candidates will prevail in the seven so-called swing states that are likely to decide the outcome of Tuesday’s election.

One poll showed Harris leading in Iowa – a state Trump had easily won in two contests – raising the possibility of a surprise election result, while another poll showed her trailing in the same state.

Harris will speak in East Lansing, Michigan, a college town in a must-win industrial state for the Democratic vice president.

She is facing skepticism from the roughly 200,000 Arab-Americans living in Michigan, who are angry with the vice president, who they say could have done more to help end the war in Gaza, also limiting US aid to Israel.

Trump visited Dearborn, considered the heart of the Arab-American community in the US, on Friday, pledging to end wars in the Middle East.

Trump is expected to make campaign speeches in three smaller cities, which could help him mobilize rural voters, who make up a significant part of his base of supporters.

The former president will begin his campaign day in Lititz, Pennsylvania, before heading to Kinston, North Carolina in the afternoon, while the evening will find him in Macon, Georgia.

Today is the first day since last Tuesday, during which the two presidential candidates do not have pre-election speeches and activities in the same state.

Yesterday, their planes shared parts of the same runways at the Charlotte (North Carolina) airport where they held campaign speeches.

Harris later flew to New York for a surprise appearance on the comedy television show “Saturday Night Live.”
