Billionaire Elon Musk took part in the phone conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump on Wednesday after the Republican’s victory in the US presidential election, a Ukrainian presidency official told AFP today.

“I can confirm that,” said the official, who asked not to be named, when asked about a report by US news website Axios.

Another high-ranking Ukrainian source told AFP that “Donald Trump gave the phone to Elon Musk, they were somewhere together. The (Ukrainian) president thanked him for Starlinks (the satellite link systems that Musk provides to Ukraine, p.s.) )”, said this source.

“They talked for a while. However the main conversation was of course with Trump,” he added.

According to the same source, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky “did not discuss anything substantial, it was a conversation to greet each other.”

The Ukrainian president called this conversation “excellent”.

Elon Musk played an unprecedented role in Donald Trump’s election campaign by spending more than $110 million from his fortune to elect the latter.

He also organized a series of meetings during the election campaign in favor of the Republican nomination in the ambivalent state of Pennsylvania.

The billionaire is expected to join Donald Trump’s future administration, but his exact role has not been revealed.

The president-elect, who is highly critical of the billions of dollars released for Ukraine, has promised to resolve this conflict even before his inauguration without ever explaining how.
