Zelensky accuses Russia of “attacking” a humanitarian corridor

by

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused the Russian military of blocking the evacuation of civilians from the besieged cities of Mariupol and Volnovacha (southeast) and of launching an “attack” on the planned humanitarian corridor.

“Russian troops have not stopped firing,” he said. “Nevertheless, I decided to send a convoy to Mariupol with food, water, medicine (…). “But the occupying forces launched a tank attack right where the (humanitarian) corridor would pass,” he added.

In a video uploaded to social media sites by his services, the Ukrainian head of state also said that about 100,000 civilians had been able to leave the last two days from other Ukrainian cities where hostilities are raging.

“I am the President of a sufficient country and a sufficient people. And father of two children. No chemical or any other weapon of mass destruction has been developed on my land. Everyone knows that. “And if Russia does something like that against us, it will receive the harshest validated response,” he said.
