Facing me disapproval and derision by pro-Palestinian protesters, came Prince William on Thursday afternoon during his visit to Ulster University in Belfast.

The Prince of Wales smiled and waved as protesters chanted in the background.

The video, shared with X by Belfast Telegraph reporter Kurtis Reid, shows Prince William facing a “less than warm reception”.

The protesters were reportedly asking the prince to do more about the situation in Palestine and Gaza. Videos circulated online, with William’s reaction limited to a salute to the students, who shouted at him “free Palestine”.

In February, William called for an end to the fighting in Gaza in an unprecedented royal intervention, writing that the “terrible human cost” of the conflict had left “too many dead”.

“I, like many others, want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible,” the Prince said. He also stressed the need for more humanitarian support for Gaza civilians and called on Hamas to release the remaining Israeli hostages.
