The following is the full message of SYRIZA-PS:
“51 years later, the flame of the great uprising of the Polytechnic is alive.
The student uprising, embraced en masse by the people of Athens, marked the culmination of the anti-dictatorship struggle, the struggle of the youth and our people for democracy and freedom.
On this historic anniversary, with the legacy of yesterday’s struggles, we look for the way to the struggles of today and tomorrow, in a world that is constantly changing, where injustices deepen and the “enemy” has thousands of faces.
With the young men and women, the students, the students, the workers on the front line, with the popular layers, the left-wing, progressive and democratic citizens, we stubbornly continue the effort to put a stop to the anti-democratic downhill.
We will continue to fight for the defense of democracy and rights. We will continue to fight for social justice and equality.
Youth struggles will always provide the impetus to overturn injustice and keep hope alive.
We invite young men and women, democratic citizens of all ages, to participate en masse in the anniversary events of November 17 and the marches that will take place in all the cities of the country.
Together we respectfully honor the struggles of the students who gave their lives for Bread – Education – Freedom. Together, we keep the memory alive.
